On the day of your COOLIEF® procedure, expect to spend about 1-2 hours at our facility. Using advanced imaging guidance, Dr. Chiu will precisely position a specialized COOLIEF® probe near the nerves causing your pain. The procedure delivers controlled cooled radiofrequency energy that deactivates the pain-transmitting nerves without damaging surrounding tissue.
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure itself. Afterward, you’ll rest briefly in our recovery area before being discharged home the same day. You’ll need someone to drive you home, and we recommend taking it easy for 24-48 hours.
